EDWARD THORNTON

Redwood City Democrat

August 28, 1902

Edward Thornton, a resident of this county during its pioneer days, died Saturday in Santa Clara and was brought here Monday for interment in Union Cemetery. The deceased was an uncle of Mrs. Sarah T. Fox and Mrs. George C. Ross. He was a native of Maine, aged 78 years and came from a family of prominence. Mrs. Thornton’s latter years were spent with his niece, Mrs. Blanche Smith, who was formerly Miss Fletcher of Menlo Park. He was laid to rest alongside two of his children who had died some years ago.
