May 3, 1906

Confirmation of the reported death of young Gerald Kirkpatrick in San Francisco during the earthquake was had by finding of his body in the ruin of the San Francisco Gas and Electric Company’s building. It was so badly mutilated as to make identification almost impossible. The remains were removed to this city and interred in Union Cemetery. The deceased was the youngest son of Mrs. Lila Kirkpatrick and the grandson of Mrs. Murch. He was a native of this city aged 21 years and had been an employee of the gas company for two years. Mrs. Kirkpatrick has the sympathy of the whole community.
